Osteopathic treatment for premature infants in neonatology: A success story in osteopathic research

Topic: This session presents the Research and Assistance for Infants to Support Experience (RAISE) project, which investigates and promotes a multidisciplinary approach that includes osteopathic treatment for premature infants in neonatal intensive care units of hospitals. Dr. Francesco Cerritelli & Dr. Andrea Manzotti will summarise the research evidence underpinning this project, while Dr. Ana Paula Ferreira will highlight why this innovative project holds significant public interest and global health relevance.

Identifying gaps and future directions in osteopathic research

Lecturer: Dr. Francesco Cerritelli

Topic: This session explores the current landscape of osteopathic research: existing projects, publications and emerging areas of investigation that could strengthen the scientific foundation of osteopathic principles and clinical practice. Attention will be given to mechanisms of action, neurophysiological correlates, health outcomes, and real-world effectiveness. Participants will be invited to discuss priorities for future collaborative studies and innovative designs capable of bridging the gap between basic science, clinical application, and health system integration.
