Imaging Technology and Somatic Dysfunction Theory
Somatic dysfunction theory and related palpatory findings have not changed meaningfully since the founding of the osteopathic medical profession. However, as imaging technology evolves, prevailing assertions concerning the validity of somatic dysfunction theory and palpatory findings will no doubt be under increased scrutiny, resulting in substantial changes. In the current article, imaging data derived from studies using various imaging modalities are being presented and discussed.
